Arriving At GNOME Asia 2024

On 05th Dec 2024, I took an early flight from Pune to arrive early at Bengaluru to help out with coordinating the logistics, meeting with colleagues, dealing with traffic, and finalizing the presentations for GNOME Asia 2024, amidst a bunch of hearty reunions and unavoidable mishaps on my way there.

Enabling Bridge Mode With Sercomm AOT-4221SR Router

The AirTel XStream Fiber router has poor wireless coverage and limited device connections. To solve the problem, I decided to bridge the internet connection to a TP Link Archer C80 router. The process involved accessing router settings, enabling bridge mode, and configuring PPPoE configuration.

Introducing SyncStar

SyncStar lets users create bootable USB storage devices with the operating system of their choice. This application is intended to be deployed on kiosk devices and electronic signage where conference guests and booth visitors can avail themselves of its services.

Day Two Part II - FOSDEM 2024

After closing my moderation duties, I explored FOSDEM booths before meeting folks at Building K. With the train booked for Amsterdam to attend the Fedora Council F2F meeting, I helped wrap up the Distribution Devroom venue before joining the CentOS HyperScale folks for dinner in the evening.

Day Two Part I - FOSDEM 2024

Sleeping in on FOSDEM 2024’s second day gave me much-needed respite after the Fedora & CentOS Contributor dinner from the previous night. I joined colleagues at ULB Solbosch, handled Distributions Devroom tasks with the organizers, attended presentations, and helped with the audience's questions.

During the first day at FOSDEM 2024, Michal Konecny and I made donations and collected swags while interacting with our friends in free and open source software. After wrapping up the dinner of Fedora Project and CentOS Project folks, we looked forward to seeing what the second day had in store.

Day One Part I - FOSDEM 2024

On the first day of FOSDEM 2024, we headed to the event with the Foreman team and CERN collective where we set up the CentOS Project and Fedora Project booths while mingling with friends of other communities, collecting some interesting swags and promoting distributions across multiple booths.

Experiences @ CentOS Connect 2024

Fixing the thermostat did help me with a relatively better sleep. After an early breakfast with my teammates, Tomas Hrcka, Fabian Arrotin and I headed to the CentOS Connect 2024 event where I caught up with community members, attended insightful talks, debugged projects and delivered presentations.

Experiences @ CHAOSScon EU 2024

Despite the restless night, I was excited about CHAOSScon EU 2024. After breakfast with teammates, Tomas Hrcka and I went to the event. We attended talks and workshops while connecting with open-source community members. In the evening, we joined the CentOS Project’s 20th-anniversary celebrations.
