Flock To Fedora 2023

Continuing the tradition of keeping the entertainment for the evening, the attendees of the conference were let loose in the city with a tablet device per group, some map waypoints to track, some difficult questions to answer, some interesting activities to perform and a lot of excitement to be had

The attendees readied up before they headed off to participate in the CentOS Project-sponsored community dinner at Tequila Jack's and the scavenger hunt event in Cork City. Our team "Open Sauce" participated alongside numerous other teams to explore the city doing fun activities and making memories.

Once the loud-sounding fire alarm puts a halt to the engrossing discussions at the event, it was time for yet another social break - although a bit earlier than whenever it was scheduled. After some conversations and selfies, it was time for a panel discussion involving community representatives

After rushing late to the Harbour 6 room and moderating a couple more talks there, my assigned responsibilities were done for the day. To my pleasant surprise, a good friend Mark O'Brien dropped by to meet up and after a fun little chat over lunch, it was time to head over to the next presentation.

After an unsuccessful lookup for the lost checked-in luggage, I started the second day of Flock To Fedora 2023 with a discussion about Raspberry Pis and Flipper Zeros over breakfast. I also participated in the keynote talk about DEIJ principles before moderating the Harbour 6 room with Carl George.

We kept the best event for later to end the first day of the conference with a metaphorical blast. Fedora Pub Quiz made an appearance again with a bunch of twists to both the gameform as well as the questions and I cannot recall the last time I had experienced so much fun at a community event before

With all the presentations for the day one coming to a close by the evening, it was time for folks to recharge their batteries a bit before they headed off to participate in even more fun activities like Game Nights in Silver Springs, International Candy Swap and Fedora Pub Quiz - Flock Edition

Once I was done with delivering the last talk that I had on my schedule for the day, it was time for me to attend those that I was looking forward to. From GNU/Linux on RISC-V, to packaging scientific tools on Fedora Linux and from busy hallway tracks to bringing Fedora Linux on Apple Silicon Macs

With the first talk wrapped up and some time left in hand before my next talk began, I stayed back to attend the Fedora Docs talk before heading upstairs. I donned the Community Platform Engineering-themed threads to deliver the next interactive talk with Aoife Moloney in the Harbour 6 room.

After socializing with a bunch of community friends that I was meeting with after a long time while consuming some snacks and beverages, I headed to the Tivoli room to deliver my first talk of the day. While the talk went well, I do think that I could have done a better job of managing the time.
