GNOME Asia 2023

Bidding heartfelt farewell to Jens, Justin and Amita on the day of departure from Nepal, I travelled with Sumantro, Saheli and Nikita on an Indigo flight bound for New Delhi from Kathmandu before boarding another Indigo flight going from New Delhi to Pune, culminating the GNOME Asia 2023 adventures.

Although light on the scheduled agenda, the third day of GNOME Asia 2023 began with a guided group tour to explore the rich cultural heritage of Bhaktapur and the surrounding areas with the participants and concluded with a successful visit to the Pashupatinath Temple to witness the evening Aarti.

The second day of GNOME Asia 2023 consisted of a set of intriguing presentations on technical and community-related topics. We also covered some ground on the Community Operations 2.0 discussions for Fedora Council and made a failed attempt to visit the Pashupatinath Temple for the evening Aarti.

Dealing with a sore throat since the previous night, I joined the Fedora Project ambassadors team to participate in the first day of GNOME Asia 2023. I attended a bunch of interesting talks throughout a parallel track schedule and helped organize the greatly welcomed Fedora Linux 39 Release Party.

From unexpected happenings to heartfelt reunions, from regional sceneries to mouthwatering delicacies and from ecstatic celebrations to focused preparations - the onward travel from Pune, India to represent the Fedora Project community at GNOME Asia 2023 to Kathmandu, Nepal was quite the adventure.
