GNOME Asia 2024

On 10th Dec 2024, Sumantro and I had a relatively late start to the departure day with some fulfilling breakfast at the hotel before the checkout, some discussions with Soumadeep at his residence before reaching the airport and a couple of short Indigo flights back to Kolkata and Pune respectively.

Fedora Project APAC team stayed an extra day after GNOME Asia 2024 for the information security meetup at the Red Hat office, where we also discussed 2025 events for Fedora Project APAC and had a retrospective activity for GNOME Asia 2024 organizers from Fedora Project, before dinners and farewells.

On 08th Dec 2024, the opt-in GNOME Asia 2024 social event took attendees to landmarks like Vidhana Soudha, Nrityagram and Our Native Village with folks involved in activities like cricket, snooker and collection before the trip was called off early due to increasing fatigue and worsening traffic.

On 07th Dec 2024, we started a tad later from the hotel and looked into addressing streaming issues, delivering multiple presentations, reuniting with friends, organizing interesting workshops with Fedora Project sponsored giveaways for the attendees and finally finishing it with a community dinner.

On 06th Dec 2024, the first day of GNOME Asia 2024 had early preparations to address streaming issues and scheduling problems which were later more than compensated for by engaging workshops and interesting presentations before a shared community dinner with Fedora Project and GNOME community folks.

On 05th Dec 2024, I took an early flight from Pune to arrive early at Bengaluru to help out with coordinating the logistics, meeting with colleagues, dealing with traffic, and finalizing the presentations for GNOME Asia 2024, amidst a bunch of hearty reunions and unavoidable mishaps on my way there.
